The Name: FlyByWire

Because we get heaps of questions where our name is coming from we now present all the reasons, stories and the history!

 

First there were three mates which had the idea to start a wingsuit skyflying aerobatic team. so the next step was of course the long way to find a NAME. so we asked around for input, and the final result were that flybywire [flaɪbaɪˈwaɪɹ] sounds cool and has something todo with air, planes and so on. (check Wikipedia for that).

A fly-by-wire (FBW) system replaces manual control of the aircraft with an electronic interface. The movements of flight controls are converted to electronic signals transmitted by wires (hence the fly-by-wire term)

so thats the offical stuff you can find with that name, for us the name stands for unbelivable stunning performance like were controlled by invisible wires 🙂

Mikas erstes Tandem Shortcut

16.10.2016, was für ein Datum für Mikas erstes Tandem, einen Tag nach seinem zwölften Geburtstag. Ein lang ersehnter Traum von Mika ist in Erfüllung gegangen. Und natürlich auch für mich, der diesen Sport so liebt, ein ganz besonderer Moment. So viele liebe Menschen, die Mika quasi von seinem ersten Lebensmonat an am Sprungplatz Kassel-Calden erlebt haben, ihn haben aufwachsen sehen, wollten an diesem Event teilhaben und haben sich mit ihm so lieb gefreut! Hier eine erste Shortcut-Version von seinem Sprung.

Trackdive Markus

Trackdive Markus

Ich wollte euch zwei Tracksprünge mit Markus zeigen. Zwischen diesen beiden Sprüngen lagen nur, ich glaube zwei Trainingssprünge. Man sieht eine deutliche Verbesserung. Beim ersten Sprung; keine Spur von Flugpattern und für mich eine echte Herausforderung da dranzubleiben. 🙂 Beim zweiten Sprung sieht das schon gaaaaanz anders aus. Klar, man kann da noch einiges rausholen, aber die Basis stimmt. Flugplan, Höhenkontrolle, brauchbare Körperhaltung, guter Pull…das schmeckt nach mehr!! 🙂
